soy-free gpm™ lutein

who has their sights set on eye health? we do.

product background

If your eyes are feeling increasingly tired or stressed out, it may be due to blue light. Many electronics, like computers, TVs and hand-held devices emit blue light that can leave your eyes feeling stressed out. Soy-free gpm™ lutein is one of our patented, fermented nutrients. Lutein is a type of naturally occurring carotenoid called a xanthophyll. It acts as an antioxidant and it is believed that lutein blocks blue light from reaching the underlying structures of the retina, thereby helping to minimize blue light-induced oxidative stress.¹

how are fermented nutrients different from traditional nutrients?

Ashland’s gpm™ nutrients are made using a patented process. We start with a nutrient-dense broth that is cultured, converted, and bio-transformed by yeast into an easily digested, highly active, natural food rich in the target nutrient. Nutrients bound to a food source may be more bioavailable. Most conventional vitamins and minerals recommend you take them with food to prevent stomach upset but, since gpm™ nutrients already contain the food component, they are less likely to cause stomach upset.
