REACH (EU)
Ashland confirms that all the products we place on the European Union market are REACH compliant. All substances contained in our products are successfully registered by Ashland or by Ashland’s suppliers (where not exempted from registration).
For polymers contained in our products, we confirm that all monomers requiring registration have been registered by Ashland or by Ashland's suppliers.
Non-EU Customers
Ashland’s non-EU customers exporting products within the scope of REACH to the European Union must ensure that their EU based importer will register any of the relevant substances or monomers which are imported at levels over one metric ton per year. Ashland does not cover third-party imports through an Ashland Only Representative. To ensure you remain compliant with REACH, it is recommended that customers purchase materials from Ashland companies within the EEA. We are happy to advise you which (alternative) materials are available for you.
K-REACH (KR)
For K-REACH (AREC), we have appointed our Korean entity – Ashland Specialty Chemical Korea Co. Ltd. – as the only representative covering products that Ashland imports into Korea as well as exports to Korea, covering our customers importing. When substances are/will be selected for registration, we will register these prior to the appropriate deadline. We also complete the required annual reporting for all imported/exported products. We follow the amendments drafted to K-REACH and will update this section in due time.
Non-KR Customers
Ashland’s non-KR customers exporting products within the scope of K-REACH to Korea must ensure that their KR based importer will register and report any of the relevant substances which are imported. Ashland does not cover third-party imports through an Ashland Only Representative. To ensure you remain compliant with K-REACH, it is recommended that customers purchase materials from Ashland within Korea. We are happy to advise you which (alternative) materials are available for you.
KKDIK (Turkish REACH)
For KKDİK, we have appointed our Turkish entity – ISP International Corp. Merkezi ABD Türkiye Istanbul Şubesi - as the only representative, covering both products Ashland imports and the products customers are importing from Ashland into Turkey. We plan to register relevant substances prior to the deadline. When the registration phase starts in 2020, we will establish a relationship with customers importing from Ashland which will relieve them from their registration obligations as an importer and become a downstream user of Ashland.
Non-TR Customers
Ashland’s non-TR customers exporting products within the scope of KKDİK to Turkey must ensure that their TR based importer will (pre-)register any of the relevant substances or monomers which are imported at levels over one metric ton per year. Ashland does not cover third-party imports through an Ashland Only Representative. To ensure you remain compliant with KKDİK, it is recommended that customers purchase materials from Ashland within Turkey. We are happy to advise you which (alternative) materials are available for you.
Our commitment
Ashland is prepared to provide appropriate confirmation to our customers that Ashland products are REACH, K-REACH and KKDİK compliant – meaning that pre-registration is complete, or that registration is completed or exempted or planned to meet appropriate deadlines, where appropriate.
In order to comply with the REACH, K-REACH and KKDİK legislation/regulation, Ashland is working closely with customers to collect information on the uses and exposure potential of Ashland products and the related substances that are purchased or imported in the EEA, Korea and Turkey. As a downstream user of chemical substances, customers have the duty to inform Ashland on the use of a substance or register their specific use themselves.
Our goal is to provide our customers with support, in close cooperation with our suppliers, to ensure that compliance with REACH, K-REACH and KKDİK can be managed effectively and smoothly for the products we manufacture, import and distribute in the EEA, Korea and Turkey. Ashland will contact you with additional information on how we will be working with you to secure REACH, K-REACH and KKDİK registration for Ashland products.
