culminal™ & benecel™ methylcellulose derivatives

chemistry: cellulosics

Methylcellulose derivatives (MC, MHEC, MHPC) provide very good binding power and lead to strong tobacco sheets after drying due to strong film forming properties and binding power of the methylcellulose derivatives. They also provide sufficient elasticity to avoid cracking of dried tobacco sheets and improve the rheology of tobacco slurries allowing better handling and workability during production. Typical are products in the low-medium viscosity range (2000-10000 mPas, 2%, Brookfield RVT).
