CHP N-Cyclohexyl-2-Pyrrolidone

chemistry: intermediates and solvents

SDS Link >

CHP ® (N-Cyclohexyl-2-Pyrrolidone) is soluble in water and most organic solvents. It is non-volative, has powerful solvency, and resistant to hydrolysis by acids and bases. Its miscibility in water is dependent upon temperature, concentration, pH and salts added.

Applications Benefits
Electronics
Photoresist Strippers: used as a co-solvent, usually in combination with M-Pyrol (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) and BLO solvents, to enhance performance by broadening solubility range.

Circuit Board Fabrication: used in chemical polishing of copper and copper alloys to increase the stability of hydrogen peroxide in acid
brightening baths.
  • Better bath stability, improved leveling and reduced
  • Broad range of resin solubility, water soluble, non-volatile etching of parts
Textiles
Dye Carrier or Dyeing Bath Additive: used in dyeing of aromatic polyamide fibers as a swelling/diffusion agent to enhance dye and flame retardantpenetration.
  • Superior dyeing at low concentrations, improves flame resistance, improves printability of aqueous printing pastes, high boiling point and flashpoint, water solubility
Specialty Cleaners
Paint Strippers: as a solvent in high temperature stripping applications for chemically resistance coatings.

Silk Screen Cleaners: as a co-solvent in cleaning formulations to enhance removal of inks from silk screen fibers.
  • High solvency, water solubility, high boiling point and flashpoint)
