Adhesives for Assembly Prefab and EIFS

Inside, outside and everything in between…

By combining design with efficiency, wrapping a building with an external insulation and finishing system (EIFS), contributes to both the comfort of building inhabitants as well as the external beauty and allure of a building. Buildings today vie for LEED™ points and platinum, gold, silver and bronze certification and efficient insulation adds to the integrity of the building as well as the comfort of the inhabitants. And, since prefabricated panels are constructed in one place where weather, daylight and timing aren't obstacles, they can help save both time and money (key factors in the profitability of any building project.)

Because of their high performance bond strength and excellent resistance to weather and heat, Isogrip™ adhesives are recognized and used in prefabricated panels that are used for both product and structural manufacturing.  These user-friendly adhesives chemically react in the presence of moisture to form a thermoset bond. Ashland's offering of ICC-ES recognized adhesives offer excellent resistance to water, heat, chemicals and humidty making them the preferred adhesive for use in a multitude of building components.  Ashland adhesives are found in many construction applications including exterior entry doors, garage doors, architectural panels, patio enclosures and structural insulated panels.  Comprised of a single component, they also contain no VOCs or formaldehyde and are also non-flamable - making them the solution to many of your building needs.

Culminal™ and Combizell™ methylcellulose (MC) derivatives help building materials apply more easily and perform better. Both products provide water retention and cohesiveness to mixtures. They are also used to control thickening, water demand, workability, sag resistance, strength and other important properties of the final product. Culminal and Combizell methylcellulose derivatives include MC and HPMC chemistries and are used to cont...

Culminal™ and Combizell™ methylcellulose derivatives

Culminal™ methylcellulose derivatives are nonionic cellulose ethers used in a variety of industrial applications as adhesives, binders, extrusion aids, plasticizers, protective colloids, rheology modifiers, stabilization agents, thickeners and water-retention agents. Culminal methylcellulose derivatives have applications in the advanced traditional ceramics, ceramics, pottery and porcelain, commercial and institutional, general manufacturin...

Natrosol™ hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC), a nonionic, water-soluble polymer, is a white, free-flowing granular powder. It is made by reacting ethylene oxide with alkali-cellulose under rigidly controlled conditions. Purified HEC for personal care and cosmetic applications is typically sold at 95.0 percent minimum purity (dry basis).  Solutions of Natrosol HEC are pseudoplastic or shear-thinning. As a result, personal care products formula...

Isogrip adhesives are user-friendly adhesives that chemically react with the presence of moisture to form a thermosetting bond. Made up of one component, 100 percent solids, they contain no VOCs or formaldehyde and are non-flammable. In a typical application, Isogrip adhesive is coated onto a core material and misted with a controlled amount of water. The core is then covered by the skin substrates and a stack is made. The stack is then pressed f...
