Zalta™ dust suppressants
Fugitive dust in mining and mineral processing operations is problematic for health, safety, environmental and economic reasons. Dust is generated when ore is loaded, dumped, crushed, screened, or transferring by conveyor belt. It can also arise from wind action on stockpiles, tailings dams and railcar and haul truck loads. Road traffic above and below ground is also a significant source of dust.
Zalta dust suppressants include wetting agents that are specifically formulated for process dust control and encrusting agents for roads, tailings and railcar and stockpile capping. Ashland dust control chemistries include surface wetting agents to lower fine-particle dispersion, tackifiers that bind particles together, humectants that agglomerate particles and encrusting agents that create a solid layer over porous surfaces. Tailored to each application, these additives can reduce worker and environmental exposure to dust, reduce water usage, lower maintenance costs and prevent product loss.
