Tallofin™ deposit control agents
In untreated papermaking systems, pitch, stickies and scale can deposit and lead to a number of problems, including lost production, poor sheet quality, increased maintenance and energy costs, and unscheduled shutdowns. To help papermakers avoid these problems, Ashland developed Tallofin deposit control agents, a family of water-based products that effectively control a variety of deposits in the wet end.
Tallofin product formulations are based on years of research and development, application experience and information collected during machine audits, problem diagnoses and product evaluations. These easy-to-handle products, which include deposit control agents, surface conditioners and cleaners, utilize a variety of mechanisms, including dispersion, passivation and stabilization, either separately or in combination, to address wet-end deposition. Depending on the type of deposit encountered and the area affected, Ashland will recommend the ideal Tallofin product.
