Steamate* PAS condensate treatments
Steamate PAS condensate treatments effectively control corrosion in steam condensate systems. The two most prevalent causes of condensate system corrosion are carbonic acid and oxygen. Steamate PAS products offer the optimum combinations of neutralizing amines (to neutralize carbonic acid and elevate system pH to levels that are not corrosive to mild steel and copper) and oxygen scavengers and metal passivators (to reduce oxygen and protect against corrosion by promoting the formation of a protective iron oxide layer in piping). The amines and passivators have excellent distribution characteristics to assure adequate treatment levels throughout complex and lengthy steam condensate systems.
Steamate PAS products provide superior protection, over varying operating conditions, of the condensate system against oxygen corrosion, which reduces iron and copper in return condensate during upsets and shutdowns. This minimizes the potential for these metals to deposit in the boiler and therefore increases system reliability. Blends are available to comply with FDA and USDA requirements.

ServicesAshland offers a variety of services which complement this product.
Customer Analytical Services
Ashland Water Technologies’ Customer Analytical Services team is dedicated to helping customers address the multitude of contaminants that can negatively impact the efficiency and reliability of their water-based systems. The team is made up of an experienced staff of analytical chemists, microbiologists and technicians and is supported by sophisticated testing equipment that provides rapid analysis and identification of contaminants beyond what may be accomplished with field-based methods. Key services provided by the team include fluid analysis, deposit analysis, microbiological analysis and metallurgical analysis.
Corrosion Monitoring and Metallurgy
Problems related to corrosion cost commercial and industrial plants billions of dollars each year. Although a variety of means exist to inhibit corrosion, it's important to identify the root cause of the corrosion. Ashland Water Technologies’ Corrosion Monitoring and Metallurgy group provides failure analysis and assessments of steam-generating and heat-exchanger equipment. Working closely with customers, this team provides clear identification of the problem, which leads to a more rapid and effective solution. Key services provided by the group include failure analysis, corrosion coupon analysis, and elemental and compound analysis.
