PVP-iodine Complex

PVP-iodine Complex was introduced as an antiseptic agent in the 1950s and is as effective as iodine itself against a broad spectrum of microorganisms. It kills microorganisms on contact, is safer and easier to use than classic iodine preparations and has low systemic toxicity. In addition, PVP-iodine Complex forms films that protect open wounds. Because it is soluble in water as well as in organic solvents, it

can be formulated in powders, tablets, lozenges, solutions, lotions, gels, ointments, creams, mousses or sprays.

The regulatory compliance information for all Ashland products varies by product family and grade. For specific data about the grade you are interested in please refer to our Excipient Information Package and the Certificate of Analysis (COA).
