ProSweet* odor control agents
ProSweet odor control agents are formulated from organic compounds that effectively control odors and reduce the concentration of hazardous hydrogen sulfide gas from process and wastewater systems with minimal capital investment. The organic compounds react with sulfur-containing gases to form stable compounds that are not released into the atmosphere.
ProSweet odor control agents are applied to offending areas in the water phase or by spray into a vent or stack. They are easy to handle and feed, and unlike metal salts, are not corrosive and do not produce sludge as a byproduct.
Typical application areas include black liquor tank vents, non-condensable gas vents and tanks, scrubber bypass stacks, and vessels requiring personnel entry. Vessel entry times can be reduced, compared to conventional air purging, when these odor inhibitors are used to scavenge hydrogen sulfides in tanks during outages.

Customer Analytical Services
Ashland Water Technologies’ Customer Analytical Services team is dedicated to helping customers address the multitude of contaminants that can negatively impact the efficiency and reliability of their water-based systems. The team is made up of an experienced staff of analytical chemists, microbiologists and technicians and is supported by sophisticated testing equipment that provides rapid analysis and identification of contaminants beyond what may be accomplished with field-based methods. Key services provided by the team include fluid analysis, deposit analysis, microbiological analysis and metallurgical analysis.
Corrosion Monitoring and Metallurgy
Problems related to corrosion cost commercial and industrial plants billions of dollars each year. Although a variety of means exist to inhibit corrosion, it's important to identify the root cause of the corrosion. Ashland Water Technologies’ Corrosion Monitoring and Metallurgy group provides failure analysis and assessments of steam-generating and heat-exchanger equipment. Working closely with customers, this team provides clear identification of the problem, which leads to a more rapid and effective solution. Key services provided by the group include failure analysis, corrosion coupon analysis, and elemental and compound analysis.
