OnGuard™ 3S ultrasonic fouling analyzer
Water quality, water chemistry, microbiological activity, process load and demand and temperature directly impact the consumption of water and the potential for corrosion and fouling in commercial and industrial cooling water systems. Ashland’s OnGuard 3S ultrasonic fouling analyzer continuously monitors critical cooling water and heat exchanger performance indicators and parameters, including corrosion, fouling, pH, conductivity, temperature, oxidation reduction potential and water flow, and provides real-time measurement and process control. The analyzer is able, instantly and remotely, to compare existing conditions to defined targets and then adjust automatically to close the gap, to provide immediate response to system upsets, and to provide reliable reports.
The OnGuard 3S ultrasonic fouling analyzer is a plug-and-play technology that is installed in-line with low investment required by the customer. The patented analyzer is the only analyzer currently available on the market that measures corrosion and fouling on a micrometer scale. With accurate and real-time measurements and performance data, a customer can quickly react to and correct even the smallest system imbalance, ensuring the optimum performance of their cooling water system. The analyzer has proven in numerous commercial applications to improve operational efficiency, to reduce treatment costs and protect plant assets.

Water Process Applications
Ashland Water Technologies’ Water Process Applications team is dedicated to helping customers improve the performance of their boiler, heating and cooling systems, and associated processes. The team supports customers worldwide from four technical centers that house extensive analytical capabilities and innovative process testing instrumentation. Using both laboratory bench and pilot scale equipment, the team can evaluate chemical and mechanical treatments and explore “what-if” scenarios under actual-use conditions.
