Nuosept™ preservative
Nuosept preservative biocides chemistry delivers quick kill and long-term prevention of bacteria, yeast and mold. Ashland biocides prevent bacterial contamination and in some cases serve as a scavenger of unwanted compounds within production systems.
We offer distinct chemical technologies: Nuosept 78 works quickly as
an HHT aqueous solution and Nuosept 91 is a water-based system, effective in high pH. These products may be applied in drilling muds, completion fluids and other water-based systems widely used in drilling and production operations.

Nuosept 78 preserative and Nuosept 7850 are 78 percent and 50 percent active respectively HHT (Hexahydro Hydroxyethyl-s-Triazine) solutions in water.
Nuosept 91 preservative is a water soluble, liquid organic biocide recommended for use in water-based systems.
- Performs well against anaerobic bacteria
- HHT active UK-CEFAS approved
- BPD dossier submitted
- Used to control microorganisms in order to avoid biofilm formation, microbiology-induced corrosion souring
- Particularly useful for high-pH environments
- Registered in the U.S. only for oilfield application
