KlarAid* clarification aids
A reliable source of fresh water that is low in suspended solids, iron, manganese and color is vital to the operation of a pulp and paper mill. Contaminants in mill fresh water can cause numerous problems. If not properly controlled, suspended solids, iron and manganese can lead to fouling of mill process equipment, sheet defects and increased maintenance costs. Additionally, a high level of color in the water can lead to increased bleaching costs.
KlarAid clarification aids provide superior mill fresh water clarification by effectively removing suspended solids, iron, manganese and color. KlarAid products are custom-blended, multicomponent coagulants formulated from organic polymers, aluminum salts and tannins. Unlike single-component coagulants, KlarAid products form their own precipitates that sweep suspended solids from raw water and are effective over a broad range of turbidity, pH and temperature.
