Hercobond™ temporary wet strength additives
Wet strength is a desirable attribute of paper products that come into contact with water. However, with certain grades, such as facial tissue and toilet tissue, it is desirable to produce a product with temporary wet strength properties. Such products require good initial wet strength and sufficient wet strength for the intended use but when disposed of, must lose sufficient wet tensile strength to allow for proper disposal.
Hercobond temporary wet strength additives include a range of water soluble, cationic, polyacrylamide-based resins that impart both temporary wet strength and dry strength properties to tissue and towel products.
Depending on the level of temporary wet strength desired, either a single Hercobond additive or a combination of additives are employed. Whichever the case, the additives provide an unparalleled level of temporary wet strength that allows tissue and towel products to perform as intended and then easily break down upon disposal.
