Galactasol™ hydroxypropyl guar
Galactasol hydroxypropyl guar (HPG) is a non-ionic guar derivative used as a gelling agent of oil and gas hydraulic fracturing fluids to suspend proppant. Galactasol HPG is easily soluble in cold temperature environments.
Galactasol HPG polymers exhibit a good thermal stability and can be cross-linked with a number of cross-linkers. It also exhibits a good alcohol tolerance.

Guar Gum
| Straight guar is produced from natural guar without chemical modification. Guar derivatives range from a single derivatization producing hydroxypropyl guar (HPG) and carboxymethyl guar (CMG) to dual derivatization, producing carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar (CMHPG). Galactasol guar and guar derivatives are used as gellants to produce high cross-linked fracturing fluid viscosity. They can be | cross-linked with a number of transitional metal ions, including borates – ideal for proppant carrying capacity in created fracturing areas. The cross-linked gel can be broken by either acids, enzymes or encapsulated oxidizers. They can also be used in low-solids drilling fluids as a viscosifier and as a fluid loss reducer in both freshwater and brines, particularly in spud muds. |
