Vinyl caprolactam imparts increased hydrophocity and reduces tack. It is a water soluble film former with pseudo-cationic functionality, substantive to negatively charged surfaces. Quaternization yields
cationic polymer; compatible with anionic, nonionic and cationic surfactants, silicones and thickeners.
