FlexiThix™ polymer INCI Name: PVP
FlexiThix polymer is a patented thickener that works under extreme conditions. Capable of providing stability across a wide pH range, this innovative polymer is highly tolerant of salt, provides a pleasant after-feel and requires no neutralization.
Having pH- and viscosity-stability for at least 12 weeks, FlexiThix polymer is highly compatible in a number of systems and has little to no odor. FlexiThix polymer can be an effective thickener for a variety of hair care products, including two-part relaxers.

Emulsion
- Recommended use levels of 1 to 2 percent
- Homogenization necessary
- Compatible with other anionic thickeners
Aqueous gels
- Recommended use levels of 3 to 4 percent
- Heat not necessary
- Homogenization necessary
- Addition of polyhydric solvents prevents fish eyes
Anhydrous gels
- Recommended use levels of 3 to 5 percent
- Heat to 85 °C; maintain temperature for at least 20 minutes
- Homogenization not required but recommended
- Addition of polyhydric solvents will enhance the feel – glycols, alcohols, glycerin
