Visitors learn about Responsible Care and watch safety drill during open house

Our plant in Shanghai held an open house, introducing our Responsible Care* philosophy and environmental, health and safety best practices to eight representatives from five neighboring companies and three safety and environmental officers from our plant's industrial zone. After the meeting, hosted by Mike Xie, site production and Environmental, Health & Safety manager, the guests were invited to witness a chemical spill emergency response drill by plant employees. “Our plant has a Responsible Care promise to all of our employees, neighboring companies and the local community," said Yongchun Zhang, Shanghai plant manager. “I hope all companies can learn from Ashland’s open house event and improve the communication among companies inside the industry zone,” commented a representative from a neighboring company. The site manufactures chemicals for papermaking and other industries.
