The most recent addition to our technology support group is computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation software
for modeling the core-making process. Between 2003 and 2008, we plan to invest more than $1.5 million in staffing,
equipment, hardware and software to add complete engineering support and prototyping capabilities.
Current capabilities include:
- Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Arena-flow® Sand Core Engineering Software*
Future enhancements will include:
- 3D Fluid Flow and Solidification Simulation Software
- Casting Design Capabilities
- Prototype Design & Production Capabilities
- Advanced Core-Making Technologies
- Advanced Metal Casting Technologies
The program will be developed as a cooperative research and commercialization effort between industry experts,
students from FEF-affiliated research universities, governmental support agencies and in-house technical
experts.
