Istanbul team serves care and performance specialties, pharmaceuticals

Ashland's global research and development effort includes a technical service center in Istanbul with three laboratories. Serving all of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets, the technical center team is dedicated to care specialties, pharmaceutical specialties and performance specialties.

The pharmaceutical laboratory was established in 2006 and initially operated as a coatings laboratory. Since the end of 2010, the team has also been working on tabletting projects. Coatings, excipients and coating research and development projects are the main focus at this facility. The mission for the lab is to provide customers with complete support from powder to package.

The performance specialties laboratory was established in 2006 as a facility dedicated to the household, institutional and industrial markets. In addition to providing technical support to all of EMEA, in 2009 this laboratory has started supporting a similar lab in the U.S., especially for internal projects, as well as Asia Pacific customer projects. At the end of 2010, the team also started working on architectural paint preparation and performance tests.

The personal care laboratory has been active since 2001 as an integral part of the European technical team, housing projects for both hair and skin care. It maintains close contact with all regional laboratories and technical centers, enabling a wide understanding and knowledge of the Turkish, Middle Eastern, African, European, Latin American and U.S. personal care markets.

The experts at the Istanbul technical center are dedicated to understanding our customers' needs such as:

● collaboration on key projects,
● formulation support,

● new-product application development,
● technical inquiries,
● customer/distributor training and seminars, and
